Complex surgery -
Multiple clean outs, a device called a wound vac that suctions the wound. Biceps out doesn’t affect grip and even if some of those proximal forearm muscles are injured there are deeper ones that start farther down that give grip function.
Depending on wound size, and what’s actually exposed in the wound, skin graft versus a muscle flap followed by skin graft.
What was lost and what is irreparable would dictate the extent of what other surgeries would need for optimal function.
Saw a fair amount of these training in NOLA.
