They are doing more with the newer Jake. They have already started making new commercials with him, Alfonso Ribiero, and Chris Paul.

From what I heard the original Jake was an actual employee. State Farm wanted to capitalize on the whole "Jake from State Farm Thing", and play it up as much as possible, they knew the way to go would be to bring in a new guy.

The new guy doesn't bring up being black at all. He is simply Jake from State Farm. Why is it that random folks on the ot can't get past the fact that he's black. You all know there are black folks named Jack, right? And there are also black folks who work at State Farm.

Are people focused on his color rather than it's a new actor playing the same character and the old actor was included in the new Jake's first ad? That is what's weird and stupid about it. Why not change the name?

If the new actor was Lance from state farm, nobody would care.

Yeah I don't understand this either. The original Jake wasn't some funny recurring character like Flo, Mayhem, or the other All-State guy.

He appeared in a SINGLE commercial and his only line was "Uh...khakis?". Why do people care?
