I get we aren’t full strength and all that but frank was a fiery player, should be able to motivate at least. how do we explain the shite effort? the guys out there are listless. Something seems terribly wrong with the morale of the squad

Frank is in over his head. It was one thing to manage with zero expectations last year. I just hope Poch is still available in November or December.

Lampard: "That's my boy!!!"

Nice. Can we equalize with getting sloppy?

Looks like Slaven Bilic got that Croatia style of play going. Lead all game, play the clock then give up a bullshite goal in stoppage time.smh

Jaysus that was a shite sandwich. How can we come out so listless against a lesser side? I fear something is wrong in the locker room and Frank seems like he has no answers. Mendy will most certainly help but our back line is total shite. And those kits are also shite. Blues didn’t deserve a point today. C’mon Z and Pulisic get fit!

This was totally unexpected, but I'll take it. Ziyech, Pulisic, Chilwell, and Mendy can't get on the pitch soon enough.
Back line play will be our undoing. With all of these acquisitions, too bad we couldn't bring in John Terry to provide some tactical instruction.

The half time turnaround indicates leadership. Two terrible mistakes that are unacceptable at this level.
I’m excited for this squad when at full strength...if that ever happens.

Silva’s was ridiculous and we signed him to avoid that kind of brain-deadness. Chillwell is fit and not sure why he sat.

being healthy enough to play doesnt equal match fit to start a premier league match.

I would argue the first half shows a lack of leadership more than the response shows the presence of leadership. You can't come out that flat and careless against a bad team.

You just hate Lampard as the manager

I’m pulling for Frank but this team looks worse than last seasons side even with the additions. He better hope Mendy is that much of a difference maker.

It’s been a rocky start no doubt, howlers don’t help, but I still ride with Frank and I still see reason for massive amounts of optimism.
Call me crazy but I think we are moving forward.

Reasons why you think we’re moving forward? Listless loss to Liverpool and a lucky draw at WBA. New players can’t get fit and Pulisic remains hurt. Mendy gives me hope just because he’s new and can’t be worse than Kepa or Willy but other than that, I see the same old flat Chelsea.

Players being hurt before they even play their first game isn’t franks fault. Pulisic is injury prone, it’s high time someone says it. It sucks but we all need to accept it.
If we can’t get some gel when ziyech and pulisic get some time on the wings then I’ll start to worry.
Mendy needs to be in the game ASAP

We finished 4th (albeit barely) in franks first season as gaffer in the premier league with a cast of poor investments and youth squad promotions on the back of losing hazard.
Despite covid, we go out and spend like a boss to bring in more than a half dozen solid investments (perhaps even rice as well).
Injuries have prevented us from fielding our best eleven thus far, and that eleven hasn’t even trained together either.
Plus it’s still really early, and given the major influx and overhaul it’s going to take some time to gel. We saw the same thing last year.
What we didn’t see last year were these mental lapses leading to goals though. Inexcusable at this level, but without those the score lines feel differently. If Tammy could have hit one of those two first attempts or Timo avoids the woodwork, we still could have won yesterday.
It’s not that there isn’t bad. There is, but it’s not all bad. Nor can it be expected to get fixed immediately either. Frank is still absolutely the man for this job imo, and I still think he can do it.
It’s going to take another two windows at least to fix the squad, but I’m encouraged by how the club appears to be going about doing business now. Swapping Emanolo for Cech seems to be paying dividends.
It’s going to be a long road to challenge city and Liverpool, but in the short term I think we are taking the steps to get there. That’s all you can ask really. I’m not dissatisfied with that. The results will improve. Stay tuned.
Always blue.
