That’s not enough a/c for that size house with a room above the garage. My parents house had the same issues but had a separate until for that side of the house. It may be a little tacky but have you considered a small window unit for that room and closing off the vents from the central air? Assuming the room has a window

I think sizing is fine. It would actually cool upstairs if I lowered thermostat downstairs. Problem is that it’d be 66 downstairs to get 71 upstairs.
