I don't want to do the cashier's job for them. I want to remove that job entirely.

You don't scan shite with Amazon's system. It uses image recognition to see what you're pulling off the shelf. You put stuff in your bag. You walk out the door. That's it. If it's that kind of system, I'm all for it. I'll even pay a premium to shop at stores that use it to avoid the wait in line.
