If this is a class about employment law, that may be irrelevant. Even US Soccer dropped that from their defense.

Maybe, although one of the defenses to an Equal Pay Act claim is “a pay system based on quantity or quality of output”. An argument could be made that the men’s national team’s quality of output is higher than the women’s national team’s. Probably wouldn’t hold up though.
Regardless, I just hate this charade that’s played in these discussions where it’s taboo to admit that the women’s game is of lower quality.
