Played (well attempted to). Had a 9:22 T time. Got to the new turned around layout- failed to mention that they switched front nine to the back nine and vice versa at 9:10 and the Marshall tells me there is 2 more groups ahead of me. Well neither group was there and I said “ well they better come on!” They finally showed up. The group behind us had a 9:30 T time. They told us that the club house had scheduled 208 rounds before noon! We knew it was gonna be a long day right then. ALSO failed to mention that their green fees had went from $60.00 to $72.00. Never finished our round because after 5 hours and 40 minutes we had enough. Hope if you play there y’all have a better time than we did!

Why would they switch the 9’s? The way they had it was perfect

Biggest pet peeve in golf is shitty Marshall’s. Hope someone from bayou oaks is reading this.

I was told the new ownership wanted more people to stop at the clubhouse after the front 9. I know after nine holes I can’t wait to eat a big hamburger and do nothing for an hour, while losing my spot in the course.

How many did you get through in 5:40?

16 holes. Pile up 17 on the green , fairway and Tbox as we pulled up.

They did the same shite to our golf league in June. The new management "forgot" we had a 52 man tournament scheduled. It was booked a year in advance, then confirmed three weeks out.
They still double booked the course and it was a complete shitshow

The swapped layout is terrible. Makes no sense.

Same experience recently. Literally 10 carts at the first stacked up.

Same experience here a few weeks ago. I’m gonna try other courses for a while until they get it figured out

Played there about a month ago. Same situation. 9:10 tee time. Got to the tee a few minutes before and there were TWO foursomes ahead of us yet to tee off. Every single one hit two off the first tee. Marshal didn't say a word. We didn't tee off until 9:50. I asked him if this was customary on a busy day and he just shrugged it off. I get it that its the only good course in the area but you have to have some structure and enforcement if you're going to book that many. We still made it around in about 4.5 hours tho.

quote:While the stacked tee times is an issue and the marshal should be handling it better, hitting 2 off of the first is becoming very common. And if the tee times are spaced out correctly and people start on time, it’s not an issue at all.

It's gotta be difficult to run the tee sheet if the marshal is having to go back and forth from 1 tee to the range. Those aren't close anymore.
I'm a big fan of the old regime (I'm clearly biased and get that), but this didn't seem like it ever happened consistently prior to the change.
Still hate swapping 9s

Yep. If they are getting backed up because people are hitting 2 off the first tee, they are booking too many tee times.

Exactly!!!!!!! We talked about that yesterday

The Greystone swap was way worse than Carter, imo. Starting the day on 10 was brutal.
Maybe I'm in the minority, but beyond the occasional hot dog and candy bar, I'm not grabbing anything at the turn that the cart girl can't get me.
Overbooking tee times can be done in rare scenarios when you know what you're doing. I used to double book a couple tee times occasionally, because I knew a group was unlikely to need all three tee times or I'd start a group of members off the back and have a spot 2 hours later reserved for them on the front. But we always had ten minute splits, so you could conceivably sneak a group out occasionally. But you can't over-overbook to the point pissing people off to where they stop showing up. Any round over 5 hours is inexcusable.
