It's an issue with both sides. A pastor out of Dallas I like said it best in a sermon: there are good arguments being made on both sides, but it's the loud fringe crowd that people hear the most, or at all.
You say the left has an issue with being emotional, a thing I'm seeing with a lot of the right is not letting go of old info. They hear something they agree with once and won't let it go. Someone commented that COVID-19 is just like the flu and people are still clinging to that like people still claiming the XBONE has to be online.
