Offered to one day (many years ago). Was getting chewed out by supervisor for not understand some the tasks we were doing (I was very new on the job).
He made the threat of running me off due to my ignorance. I told him he could either explain the tasks, or fire me - didn't matter to me.
Thankfully he backed down. I say "thankfully "because I ended up working for that company for 4 summers and then for 14 more years full-time. (That guy was long gone before I began working full time). Then I started my own company with the experience I gained working there.
That company went under about 10 years ago. My firm is still growing (knock on wood).

That’s a great story.
