I did not like when BO used them and don't like this use of it either.
What legal basis does the government have to suspend evictions? Essentially forcing landlords to provide free housing.
I predict a lot of these rentals will become foreclosures.

It’s a leverage/messaging play. Won’t happen. Relax.

What legal basis do they have to do anything they have ever done until they just make it the new legal basis?
Welcome to having a big daddy government everyone wanted to take care of them

What the hell would you have him do?

Except there's a moratorium on foreclosures as well I believe.
As for the overall subject matter, there was but only one of only two avenues he could've taken:
1. Piss off people like you (not that there's anything wrong with that/you)
2. Be drilled by MSM and the left for instantly making untold numbers of people homeless during a pandemic, most of which being minorities, i.e. blacks and Hispanics.....as media would no doubt frame it.
So pick your poison. #2 would result in election loss, in my opinion.
ETA....#1 can be temporary, actually. And could be remedied and repaired. #2, not so much.

suspend evictions
This is vital until this situation stables out IMO. Major implications putting families in streets and homeless shelters with the virus. Like the line reads in Full Metal Jacket...”it’s one giant shite sandwich and we all gotta take a bite”.

This board worships Trump and everything he does. Haters coming your way.

I agree he did the right thing. Even if it at worse goes through like it is until the end of the year or at best gets congress to make a decision to stop playing politics with their constituents lives.
Every member of congress should be held accountable for what they are doing to the American people.
Remember we are in “a public health crisis” that is unprecedented according to the left. Unprecedented actions are now being taken to make sure the people of this nation survive.

It’s a sad state that we’re in. People abandoning their principles in exchange for the feels that a cult membership gives. The same rooting for the EOs he’s given were out for blood over Obama’s saying they were unconstitutional. When confronted the response is excusing it with “what would you have him do?”. Our country is going down the hole and the state of government quickly turning into something unrecognizable. Sad.

That started in January, 2009. President Trump is trying to pull us out of said hole.

I think if and when Trump wins, he will be much more apt to stretch his power wings, and we will see the type of actions/efforts that most Trump supporters have wondered where it's been. I think he will squeeze every last drop that he can within Constitutional boundaries to repair anything broken during the campaign, and beyond that to accomplish his original agenda.
Sure, he'll be challenged at every turn in court, but there will be none of the constraints caused by reality of doing what must be done to get reelected. Because you must first be President to make big things happen. Pulling out all the stops during second term.

No he isn’t. Push comes to shove he doesn’t want his hands on pushing for a reopening. He wants to have his cake and eat it too. Talks the talk but as the governor of Georgia found out doesn’t have your back for the walk.

So, you don't have a clue what he should have done and just want to bitch about it? Got it.

Based on what information is it just a leverage/messaging play? I have a friend who can't get rid of a freeloading a-hole tenant and she may loose her property because she relied on the rental to pay the mortgage.
If you have any info on that, please let me know.

You do understand that this didn’t HAVE to come down to an EO, right?

Let's say that's true; It's still aggravating as hell that he's putting it into the minds of people that the Executive Branch can just decide what housing policies should be.
For frick's sake, government shouldn't be in the housing business at all, much less have a say in people's rent.
