The building somewhat standing looks like grain storage. You can see all the yellow corn on the ground after the explosion.

Holy shite it looks like someone bit a chunk out of where it exploded. I’ve never seen that before

Its called beer pong not Beirut

The most amazing thing to me is the grain silo remains standing. That probably saved lots of lives in that direction absorbing the blast.

Yeah, ammonium nitrate packs a lot of energy. Here is an aerial photo of the aftermath of an 18 wheeler transporting ammonium nitrate along an Arkansas highway. The driver had to pull over because his brakes caught fire and it melted the ammonium nitrate he was carrying which led to the explosion.

Geometry. Round concrete cylinders are strong.

I have. With nukes.
Now, this obviously wasn't a nuke (no radiation, fallout, EMP, etc)... but it was as powerful and concentrated as a small nuke. The kind the army used in the 50's and 60's with their atomic artillery
On a larger scale, this also happened with the Marshall Islands H-Bomb tests. They literally vaporized chunks of the islands, and from the air, it looks like someone took a giant bite from the atoll.

On the bright side, the dock workers just got themselves a new fishing hole.

I can't believe those ships didn't get crushed and sink.
Pretty amazing.
Pretty amazing.

Many of the ships used at the Bikini Island test lasted though many of the test and had to be sunk later.
IJN Nagato rode out two test and only sank due to war damage to her hull repairs cracked. Sinking 1 night after the second bomb.

Can we get one of those at a national BLM meeting please?

That may be a tad over the top.

Incredible images in this thread. The video was impressive but I can see why many thought it was intentional with so much energy released.
ammonium nitrate is impressive.
Anyone know where I can get a couple of tons. Thinking of going fishing in Delaware.

Those side pictures are a much better perspective.

Before the Oklahoma City bombing you used to be able to buy it at your local farmers supply store. 34-0-0 fertilizer.
I wouldn't attempt this unless you have a little chemistry experience but ammonium nitrate is easy to make in small amounts with nitric acid and ammonia. Making tons takes industrial sized equipment.

After seeing the before and after, I have no idea whether the person filming this survived or if someone captured a livestream, or maybe just found his phone. But being that close to the blast seems like it would have pulverized every bone and organ in his body:
Also putting in perspective:
