You don't need "athletic ability" to use an elliptical machine, stationary cycle or treadmill 4 or 5 times a week for 2 to 3 1/2 hours total time, and a general strengthening program of about 90 minutes in 3 sessions over a week.
What I was trying to say is that I'm not one who enjoys physical activity or working out or things like that. It's a means to an end and to me that end is just to lose weight. I walk 2miles/day right now but loathe every second of it.

Then just diet.
If you eat clean, modest calories and drink about a gallon a water a day, you’ll lose weight without any physical activity. No sugar or soft drinks. Just don’t starve yourself and make sure and have a cheat day or cheat meal so you can sustain it.
Once you stop losing weight and if you’re not at your goal, you’ll need exercise to take you the rest of the way.

No one really enjoys the process of getting into shape. Building up sweat equity is tough man. Once you're in shape however, it's pretty easy to maintain and fun to workout.
You just sound like you're unable to push yourself.
