Maybe it is a marketing thing to get several places excited about it or how close is the hurricane?

Oh, that's almost certainly the reason they're going to come down that far West instead of just off the East coast of Florida closer to all of SpaceX's infrastructure. They can target a given patch of the ocean pretty accurately; they land rockets on barges like it ain't nothing. The Dragon has a fair bit of cross-range capability on return. It's a lot more advanced than the Apollo days and even then they were able to land within a couple of miles of where they wanted to. It makes the use of the word "might" funny to me. They're not gonna try for Pensacola and end up in Mobile.
