Sucks that we still have a year almost until we get a meaningful game.

The OCT!!!

Also, this helped Canada big time.

The format doesn’t affect our chances, we should always make it regardless

As we saw last time, "should" doesn't mean "guaranteed". We're still in a transition.

But it wasn’t because of the format, this isn’t much different

The added game(s) against a lower ranked team combined with us not having to play for another 10 months helps us on paper whether you want to admit it or not. We may not need better odds, but the odds likely increased regardless.

Canada should be a fun team, I can see them overtaking Costa Rica ASAP (not that that is a hot take).

I would love to see us develop a solid rivalry with the canucks and by rivalry I mean we beat them every time like a red headed step child.

Yeah I would love it. With David and Davies coming on they should be better. I really don’t know much about the rest of the players that would round out their squad tho.

Mark-Anthony Kaye is one of the better MLS central mids. Jonathan Osorio is pretty good too.

Always feel kind of bad for Canada because they got dicked over with the younger de Guzman and Owen Hargreaves

They could have had the probably not straightforward pleasure of fitting Atiba Hutchinson, Owen Hargreaves, both de Guzmans, and De Ro into a team

Guess it’d be streamlined a little bit by Owen Hargreaves’s constant injuries

But then you can make the argument that it crowds the race as well. Mathematically speaking, it's easier to finish top 3 out of 6 teams instead of 8 teams.

Regardless, my point with this helping Canada is that this cycle was originally set up to where they could on;y qualify through the inter-continental playoff since they weren't top 6. Now, that's not the case.

In our case, nothing changes other than we need to play 6 more games to qualify.
