BATON ROUGE – On Friday, the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry (LDAF) was notified that a resident in St. Rose received an unsolicited package of seeds, originating from China.

The shipping label says the package should contain earrings, but instead, the recipient got seeds.

At this time, recent reports indicate that unsolicited packages of seeds have been received by people in Utah, Virginia, Washington and the United Kingdom.

“Right now, we are uncertain what types of seeds are in the package. Out of caution, we are urging anyone who receives a package that was not ordered by the recipient, to please call the LDAF immediately,” said Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry Mike Strain, D.V.M.

At the least, it should be enough to call wide-spread mail fraud by China.

Meh, I bet war happens first, then Famine.

Something GMO that spreads quickly, prolifically, is hard to kill and rapidly drains infected soils of all nutrients would be pretty scary. It takes just one person who's curious what the seeds produce and plants some in their garden.

China has been importing those snakehead fishes and letting them into our rivers trying to destroy our ecosystem

I'm sure some of you fishing guys know about it
Friend had one in a fish tank and that are disgusting creatures. It punched it's way out of the tank and was slithering on the ground

They’re a real problem and almost impossible to eradicate once they have a foot hold.

I may or may not know of a 500 gallon aquarium that holds certain illegal fish.....that would never be released into the wild.

So are gars. yet you will find Garfish balls.

I've had snakehead. While the body is similar to bowfins/Dogfish which will turn people off because they taste like arse and are bony, the flesh color of a snakehead is closer to a Cobia in both look and taste.

It is a very good tasting fish.

ETA: if you catch one and aren't going to eat it(You're missing out) then kill it. don't release it.
