So... if I run Cat6 to anywhere I want a camera, and Cat6 to anywhere I want a TV, and Cat6 to where my thermostat goes, I should be good?

I realize speaker wire to where speakers go.

And I guess I need to coax to where the TV's and modem go?

I ran 1.25 or 1.5 inch conduit from the attic down the walls where I was going to put my TV's to an orange low voltage box. let it stick up in the attic about a ft. or 2 so it is above the insulation. It is super easy to run Cat6 or coax this way. I put a 4 port keystone jack cover plate with 2 cat 6 jacks, one coax, and one HDMI jack. All my bedroom TV's are hung around 5.5 to 6ft above floor. I put some 2x12 blocks between studs to have somthing solid to attach the mounts to on each side of the low voltage and receptacle to not worry about having to hit a stud with mounting bolts. Install electrical receptacle there too so no exposed wiring. You dont need cat 6 to your thermostat, just get your AC guy to run a 5 or 6 conductor there as most wifi tsats take a common wire to work for power from the air handler.
