. The most realistic definition of these beings is that they were highly intelligent extraterrestrial beings who ultimately creating animals and mankind.
The Egyptian Book of the Dead speaks of these beings in Chapter 134 - 14/17 - “The Gods” it clearly states:
“Behold, O ye shining ones, ye men (14) and gods, ye damned ones, when ye behold Osiris Ani, triumphant like unto Horus and adored (15) by reason of the ureret crown, fall ye down upon your faces; for Osiris Ani is victorious (16) over his foes in the heavens above and on the earth beneath, in the presence of the godlike rulers (17) Of all the gods and goddesses.”
Early records of The Shining Ones can be found in 5 basic sources:
1: Sumerian tablets from the library in Nippur where they are called by the name Annunaki (Anannage)
2: In Bible, Book of Genesis, Numbers, Deuteronomy, where the name of Nephilim was given to them
3: Writings in Greece that can be accounted to Babylonian priest Berossus
4: The Book of Enoch, where they are mentioned by the name of Angels, Watchers, Nephilim
5: Book of Jubilees
Edit: the Testament of Amram makes reference to the Shining Ones as the Watchers appearing to Moses’s father Amram:
“And there appeared two men very tall, such as I have never seen on earth. And their faces shone like the sun, and their eyes were like burning lamps; and fire forth from their lips. Their dress had the appearance of feathers… [purple], their wings were brighter than gold, their hands whiter than snow. They stood at the head of my bed and called by my name.”

I wonder if these people are related to the Anasazi peoples of the Southwest United States. Annunaki, Anasazi. Very similar and there are some other parallels that could be drawn between the two.

And all this up above brings to my mind the God Quetzalcoatl. A meso-american God also known as "the feathered serpent." He has a similar story to Jesus and is even described as a white skinned God adorned in feathers.
The spiritual connections in all of this are hard to ignore. Are we about to see some of the old "Gods" return?

Melchiresa
Melchiresa is an archdemon mentioned in several of the fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls.
History
One of the Dead Sea Scrolls (4Q535, Manuscript B), which dates to the second century BCE, is written from Amram's point of view, and hence has been dubbed the Testament of Amram. The document is dated to the 2nd century BC and, in the form of a vision, briefly discusses dualism and mention three evil spirits: Belial, the Prince of Darkness and Melchiresa. I saw Watchers in my vision, the dream-vision. Two men were fighting over me ... holding a great contest over me. I asked them, 'Who are you, that you are thus empowered over me?' They answered, 'We have been empowered and rule over all mankind.' They said to me, 'Which of us do you choose to rule you?' I raised my eyes and looked. One of them was terrifying in his appearance, like a serpent, his cloak, many-colored yet very dark. ... And I looked again, and in his appearance, his visage like a viper. ... I replied to him, 'This Watcher, who is he?' He answered, 'This Watcher ... his three names are Belial and Prince of Darkness and King of Evil.' I said (to the other Watcher), 'My lord, what dominion (have you?)' He answered, 'You saw (the viper), and he is empowered over all Darkness, while I (am empowered over all Light.) ... My three names are Michael, Prince of Light and King of Righteousness.Melchiresa also appears in 11QMelch in direct opposition to Melchizedek, the leader of the forces of good.
Fragment 4Q280 describes a series of curses laid upon Melchiresa: Accur]sed are you, Melki-resha, in all the pla[ns of your guilty inclination. May God [make you] an object of dread at the hand of those exacting vengeance. May God not favour you when you call on him. [May he lift his angry face] upon you for a curse. May there be no peace for you in the mouth of those who intercede. [Be cursed,] without a remnant; and be damned, without salvation. - 4Q280
