One option If your only going 6-8 inches you may be better off just using your grader box. Put half the teeth in it and leave half out pull you a swale that way you can mow it and not have to deal with a “ditch”.

I might try that as well. The clay out here makes the swale approach interesting. May end up discing first then use your approach.
