The cognitive test Trump keeps asking Biden to take

It’s just a brief screening test for dementia. I would be happy to give them both a thorough neurocognitive evaluation to find who is fit to hold public office. Hell, I’ll even test everyone in the Legislative and Judicial branches. Let’s let the data do the talking.

Scoring on those tests are highly subjective too.

It’s commonly used by Doctors, especially Neurologists. However, if they really want to know if someone has dementia the patient is referred to a Neuropsychologist.

Not if the administrator is following the manual. Norms exist for a reason, even for a test created in Canada like the MOCA.

I got a kick from him claiming the "last 5 questions" of MoCA (the orientation questions) were the hardest.

Trump is overselling the difficulty of the test, but since 99% of the population have no idea what it is I let it slide. For a true Dementia patient, the test can be very difficult. And I’ve been a rater on several Alzheimer’s drug trials as well as testing hundreds if not thousands for Dementia.

No doubt, or else it would be a poor screening tool and it seems to be a lot better than the MMSE which they used to emphasize (too much orientation, not enough executive function?).

I would gladly test all sides in a nonpartisan manner. We deserve to have public servants who are competent. I’ve helped evaluate the competence of lawyers and doctors for their licensing boards, but why don’t politicians have a licensing board. See my sig quote.
