I have the original Callaway Rangefinder (Yellow Cover) and I finally changed my second battery which seems pretty remarkable in a way.

It still works fine and I think this model is over 10 years old now and has Nikon optics.

Besides the slope option, are the newer models that much better today ?

Optics might not be better, but things like slope, vibrate/lock on target, and speed of acquisition should be better. Just guessing.

Not really. Only in visuals and speed. Bushnell is trying to incorporate altitude, temp, and humidity I think with the XE but I don’t find that to be useful in reality.

.

I guess mine is older than that then.

It locks on fine and the yardage seems right, so I guess no reason to upgrade right now.

I’m always within a yard or two of them anyways without them, so no use for one.

Really ? How do you do that ?

I have seen quite a few sprinkler heads marked wrong.

Some courses like Champions GC have greens so big that they can be 4 clubs deep.

I have the Bushnell Tour V4 Slope, which I bought when the prices went down for the newer bushnell coming out. Its great and super quick and easy to use.

I also have used and still use the Bushnell Phantom GPS. Which you won't get a pin distance but it gives you front middle and back, which is all I really need typically. Also, if you're riding it has a magnet that you can attach it to the cart and it is super easy to just glance at it quickly. Also, its only $100.

They are just way smaller, I look like I've got a spotter scope for sniping dudes a half mile away compared to the slimmer models
