I think the folks you're referencing are justifiably fed up with the bullshite .... Fauci: "Masks don't help" Mar2020; Fauci: "You must wear masks" July2020.

The CDC says they still don’t practically work in their current documentation. That is the real argument. If the execution of the initiative is not really practical then they don’t need to be fear mongering with it.
