My DIL is a doctor and she says that if a person tests positive then is tested several times later then all tests are separate “cases” so one person can constitute several cases. This in addition to the cases where people leave before testing and are later declared to be positive. How inaccurate are the numbers?

This is exactly how it is reported in Georgia. When a person gets a positive test, then does their 2 week thing, then goes to get the followup test so they can return to work, but tests positive again, it gets officially counted as two cases.

The cdc website says the ready tests are, at best, 80% accurate. These are the stories the media isn’t telling.
