Well technically our unit has R22 and there are alternatives. You dont actually have to use r22. That being said our unit crapped out about 10 times in last 2 months and warranty company finally approved new AC. Well we been without for 2 weeks lol.

Yep, there are a few alternative replacement, and cheaper, refrigerants to R22 that could be used, for those that choose not to replace a R-22 unit and repair it, R407C being one, and a few others.
