Do you and your family sit at home in fear? I bet you are one of those mask shamers aren’t you? This world has lost their damn minds! I can’t believe that so many people can be controlled this easily. It’s fricking sad !

what about the kids (God rest their soul) who have died on the practice field with heart conditions?

should sport be eliminated from society on every level based on this?

no and no

You're letting your anxiety take over and do the thinking for you.

100% yes. He would have a much better chance of a serious injury playing than being significantly impacted by COVID.

No my point is “ Quit being a pussy”! This virus is a joke. It is like having a chest cold for two weeks . My whole family has had it. My 11 year old ran a fever for two weeks and that’s it! No other symptoms! He felt fine. It’s ridiculous that this country has locked down over this BS, and It’s ridiculous that you would even ask this question . That lets me know that you are on your knees in front of your tv and waiting for CNN to tell you what to do next. Pathetic!!

Being nervous of dying from a virus is the least of my fears trust me. All I am stating is if I had a son I wouldn't want him to risk it. I didn't say not go outside or wait until the spring.

Unfortunately, there seems to be several football player deaths a year from unknown health issues or heat stroke.

We still play day games in the heat and havent stopped practicing/playing over the fear of a player dying because of unknown health issues.

Why now?

My LA parish has a covid mortality rate of 0.000138. The neighboring parish covid mortality rate is 0.000132.

The flu mortality rate in Louisiana in 2019 was 0.0001706.

Games werent cancelled any previous yrs.

Exactly!!! I had it and I have one kidney and smoked the whole time. It wasn’t even as bad as sinus infections that I’ve had in the past

Your anxiety tells you that if you have Covid 19, you're going to be on a ventilator and will possibly die from it.

I'm here to tell you (as a person who recovered from Covid 19) that those cases are the absolute rare cases of it. The overwhelming majority of cases is like having the cold/flu for two days, and then you lose your smell and taste for a few weeks.

Is that something to be concerned about if you had a son? Because if you're worried about that, there are at least a dozen other things that are much more likely to occur for a college aged son. Starting with drunk driving accidents.

For many high school players, this may be a chance at a better life, college, contacts, opportunities.
For college athletes it’s a degree, a look from the pros, coaching positions.
It’s just not right to rob them of these chances over a condition that barely affects their demographic. They’ve worked hard for them.
Let them play
