FWIW, I just ordered yard signs from Steve McClinton (place 7) and Robin Shultz (place 2)
I'm assuming that you already know to vote against Swinney *from yard signs next to Doug Jones signs); but voting for.McClinton is CRITICAL; his opponent (Carin Mayo) is a full blown marxists progressive, I know her personally...

With you on McClinton. Really torn on place 2. I'm not voting Swinney, but I'm not a fan of Robin Schultz at all. Really considering Ron Brown. He seems more conservative than Schultz to me. I think Schultz is a big government fake.
There's a Facebook group called Hoover Conservatives you should join, if you haven't. A few council members and candidates are in there.
