For a full class, you're absolutely right, but for 1 recruit they have the backing to go up against anyone in the country

Facts.

No, they don't have LSU's facilities, fanbase, success, etc. But, given what they have to work with and their recent rise to relatively moderate success along with the ability to put kids in the league--couple that with the money to compete with any program in the country (ESPECIALLY for DFW kids)...don't count them out.

Not intending to reply to any one poster, but to all that say SMU can rise up and compete for any one or few recruits they want...and this is no knock on Byrd...but if that's the case, why would they shoot their wad on an OT? Why not a QB, RB, or DL that can better raise up the program? It's unlikely if not rare that an OT can do that. Bang for the buck, so to speak.
