No. You have to start looking honestly through the lens of history and context of the times.. we can’t look back these figures and weigh them based on legal ownership of slaves. Was it wrong...yes , but it was part of the world, one in which slaves were common place.. One where they were sold and bought by Africans and African Americans.. a world where the ethnicity of many cultures were trampled upon by Anglos of British decent..

Yes and no.

Washington definitely would have grown up with slavery just being a part of life, but most of the founding fathers were pretty well versed in enlightenment philosophy and slavery was already being talked about as immoral.

If you look you’ll see most of the northern founding fathers were anti-slavery. Adams And Hamilton.

It’s not like this wasn’t considered and Washington like Jefferson made arrangement for his slaves to be freed after his death, and other slaves to be freed on Martha’s death.
