COSTCO dishwasher update

So apparently after selling me the appliance Costco's fulfillment contractor determined my zip code didn't support installation.
Its all good; they gave me a $100 allowance instead to call someone which of course I'm not going to do. The only reason I didn't want to DIY is Costco was cheaper than Home Depot for the same model and offered free delivery, installation and a 4 year return.
I'll take the $100 rebate. Its not rocket science to hook up water, power, drain hose and level it.
So even when Costco doesn't come through..they still come through.

What did you get? I will need a fridge and dishwasher at the end of the month.

you mean what did the WIFE get
we settled on a $600ish LG because she liked the 'night dry' feature which hopefully will reduce the number of mornings where i pop the dishwasher door open when making coffee to let the wet dishes dry.
at this point w/ our existing dishwasher broken i didnt feel like paying $1000+ and possibly getting something we hated so we just picked a basic stainless steel model and when we do all our appliances later we'll get something that matches.
ETA for fridge i would *STRONGLY* consider the GE models (under $2k at Costco) with the measured fill on the door. I had that on an old kenmore and freaking loved it. think about how many times you're hunting for a measuring cup to measure water for oatmeal or a recipe. just put the cup under the water, check oz or cups and hit 'go'. I will also never EVER E-V-E-R do a bottom freezer again holy fricking hell. side-by-side for me from here on out. i hate that damn bottom drawer.

I do not want a water dispenser. They end with white calcium? buildup on the tray. It is nasty looking after a while.

as I probably open the freezer once a week, I prefer it at the bottom. It allows a 36" wide refrigerator section, all at eye level.

i'm old and hate bending over sideways to get crap out. the handle always comes loose no matter how much i tighten the little hex screws because i have a big family and the little kids are always yanking on it. popsicles fall down behind everything and the door doesn't get closed all the way and i open it to find everything covered with ice, you can never ever find anything because all the frozen food sits in a gigantic basket instead of having shelves like a side-by-side so you end up piling everything on the counter looking for something...should i go on?

this isn't really an issue. i just pour a tiny bit of bleach in the drain tray and let it sit for an hour to kill any mold build up and rinse it in the sink. if the tray itself comes out (it should) just put it in a pot in the sink w/ vingear for a couple hours and that will get rid of it.

Make sure you put a loop or high spot in the discharge hose. Should be in installation manual.

Make sure you take out the knock out plate
