Ferretts are the appropriate animal testing for respiratory diseases, not mice.
Are they reclassifying this now?
EDIT: I see they are doing ferretts too. That is good. Now they just need to do safety studies (they wont) and everyone will be happy and verify the hyper immune reaction is not happening.
