3rd - 5th we didn't have specific required books. We were required to go to the library and pick books. I trended biographies so I read:
Andrew Jackson
George Washington Carver
Henry Ford
Stonewall Jackson
Thomas Edison
And a few more I can't recall
The only novel I picked was Huck Finn.

I read both then.
But...Tom Sawyer Freshman year. Huck Finn Junior year.
