2022 WR prospect. He is supposed to be a stud football and basketball player. He is currently ranked 9th in LA and 253rd Nationally for football. Doesn’t look like he has an offer from LSU yet. He was recruited by Randy Livingston (LSU ties) to play basketball and transferred to Newman last year. He didn’t play his Sophomore year in either sport.

The word is that he currently lives with Cooper Manning’s family. Since he is a year a head of Arch, it could be a hint into Arch’s destination as well. If he does get an offer from LSU in either Football, Basketball, or both, it could be very interesting.

Regardless of his ties to Manning he is a note worthy prospect in his own right. Feels like he would have gotten an offer this summer at an LSU camp. The 2022 class for LA does look really good as discussed in many threads.

Edit: He will also be on the same team as Chris Lockett. Also a year a head of Chris. Could be helpful there also.

AJ 247

Any of you Bawws with sauces got anything?

Pelican Preps

quote:

NEW ORLEANS—It’s been almost a year since AJ Johnson got to play in a prep football game for real.

While the uniform he is wearing may have changed, his passion to make a difference on the field certainly has not.

“When people watch me on film, they are going to see a receiver that can simply go up and get the ball,” Johnson said. “Win jump balls 100-percent. I tried to pattern my game and play like (Atlanta Falcons wide receiver) Julio Jones. He’s a great receiver and dominates all aspects of the game; something that I try to do every time I’m out on the field.”

The 6-3, 195-pound Class of 2022 wide receiver had to sit out last season after transferring from McMain to Isidore Newman High School. That hasn’t stopped an impressive list of offers from already starting to come in as he has offers on the table from Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Kansas, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi State, Tennessee, Virginia and Tulane.

quote:

“What am I looking for in a school? It’s all about the brotherhood and the love and support that the entire program has. I want teammates that share my passion. I’m not from Louisiana, so staying close to home is not exactly necessary for me. I want to check out Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Virginia and Miami (Fla.).”

A wide receiver class of Crawford, Preston and Johnson would be solid after this 2021 haul is potentially finalized in the coming weeks.

If we get McMillan after this 2021 haul, Joseph deserves himself one hell of a raise

You also have Armani Winfield, who is a top-15 receiver and plays on Nussmeier's 7-on-7 team

If he continues to be rated the number 35 wide receiver in the 2022 class, I doubt he gets an offer from LSU.

He's rated higher than Crawford currently and we just signed the 49th ranked WR this last class. Class of 2022 is a little too far out to be overly concerned with rankings.

Is he as good as he thinks he is, or Is he like the last Newman receiver you said wasn’t?

No way he stays at 35 with better coaching and Arch throwing him the ball the next two years

They have a coach that's killing it with secondary prospects from LA. Theyve pulled 5-6 kids to UVA the last 2-3 years.

Thanks for sharing info on this recruit. Sorry, we will just have to agree to disagree about this having any influence whatsoever on Arch’s decision though.

I have to agree with Pipedream. It’s not unlike players to follow their friends to a school. It’s often a big recruiting pitch.
