Sessions was the first US senator to endorse Trump when nobody else in Congress would dare to do that and he took a big political risk to do that. People in DC thought sessions was crazy to do that.
Sessions gave Trump an air of legitimacy that the candidate was looking for.
And furthermore, Sessions hasn't written a tell all book about Trump and hasn't even said so much as a cross word about the President despite his repeated attacks and endorsing his opponent.
Meanwhile Sessions is endorsed for a return by the people charged with enforcing border security and our immigration laws, the unions for ICE and CBP.
