So this is pretty much a rant, but with everything happening, it's as good a time to spew it than any.

Growing up, I always had probably slightly more black friends than white. Nothing particular to why that happened, it just did.

As far back as I can remember (lived in Minneapolis until I was 12, ATL a couple years, then small town Bama), I always felt some sort of pitty for my black friends (justified or not). I just always had the feeling there were pressures on them to fit a certain mold, act a certain way, think a certain way, etc.

I thought, I am lucky in life, I don't have that pressure. I tried to talk to several friends about that, of course being young, they disregarded it.

So flip to the current time. There is an immense amount of pressure for all white people to be a certain way. If you don't think life the others, you will be shamed and doxxed and driven out of business or a job. Essentially the stakes are super high, even when you're just trying to spread truth with a good heart.

My question to everyone here, what are you willing to sacrifice? I feel we've all retreated to being anonymous because we might have to give up something. Are we all just talk? We refrain from speaking truths on social media because we fear the outcome, but why? Some people don't know the truth, some people don't know the statistics, some people don't know anything other than what MSM reports.

In short, the silent majority needs to start being the vocal majority with a picture plastered beside their thoughts.

ETA: if you're wondering where this came from, I watched this video tonight

We need explicit organizations that can raise funds and speak on "our" behalf the same as every other group out there has. I don't need to post on my Facebook the interracial crime stats, the discrimination in college admissions, the demographic displacement charts.... I need to be able to donate to the white version of the NAACP, La Raza, Glaad, ADL, etc to advocate those things for me.

Not fear. It's just common sense. Truth gets you banned on most social media.

driven out of business or a job

I don’t have the luxury of losing my job.
It’s very specific, and I can’t just sign-on with another company.
I’ve already been spoken to by my department head for failing to include “my pronouns” in my email signature.

You’ll appreciate this anecdote ....

So my department had a “voluntary” online (via Zoom) Happy Hour a couple of weeks back.
Everyone was asked to give a toast.
One person toasted to “Being able to drink with friends, knowing there are zero Trumpkins in our virtual bar!”

Everyone laughed, woo-hoo’d, hell yeah’d!, etc.

Everyone.

It’s bullying is what it is.

She made me feel 100x worse than I already felt. That being said, what a great video.

I am who I am, a work in progress who speaks his mind. Right is right and wrong is wrong. As there are laws which govern our physical world there are laws given which ought to direct our conduct. If that is wrong then my employer is more than welcome to dismiss me and I will see them, at a minimum, at the next unemployment hearing.

Further, if who I am doesn't meet their expectations then I prefer not to be there. I'll go elsewhere or simply enjoy my days of retirement, though earlier than planned.

Academia is chalked full of those types. To save your job, you probably laughed along.

We need to start mocking them. Say you identify as a kangaroo and hop around the office.
