In a conversation with Mike Greenberg for ESPN's "The Return of Sports" special, Goodell said it would be up to a team to sign Kaepernick and welcomed his voice on discussions of social issues.

"Well, listen, if he wants to resume his career in the NFL, then obviously it's gonna take a team to make that decision," Goodell said. "But I welcome that, support a club making that decision, and encourage them to do that.

"If his efforts are not on the field but continuing to work in this space, we welcome him to that table and to help us, guide us, help us make better decisions about the kinds of things that need to be done in the communities. We have invited him in before, and we want to make sure that everybody's welcome at that table, and trying to help us deal with some very complex, difficult issues, that have been around for a long time.

"But I hope we're at a point now where everybody's committed to making long-term, sustainable change."

Any team would be crazy to sign him because if he’s not good enough to make the team you can’t cut him because there would be riots all over the country.

Please do. I've never rooted on someone to break their neck on a field before, but will start if he plays.

Look, if a team wants to sign him, that’s their right. However, Kaepernick will have to be willing to “give” some, too. He can’t reject every deal offered because he doesn’t like the pay or because it’s not for a starting job and then claim that he’s been treated unfairly. Heck, even Cam is having a hard time finding a team, and he is better that Kaepernick when healthy. So, Kaepernick can't cry foul when he isn’t offered a starting role with a hefty salary.

No one is going to start him and no one is going to give him starter money.

So he won't sign and he'll just bitch and moan some more.

You ain't just signing Kaep. You're signing that crazy arse girlfriend of his who blew up any chance he had of signing with Baltimore awhile back.

Kaepernick doesn't want to play football. He's making millions playing the role of the perpetual victim/martyr.

Unless he starts performing like Lamar Jackson and dominating the league like he did in the 2012 playoffs, aint no way a team wants that PR headache, particularly since he sued the league

1. Would I sign someone that sued me? Someone that cost me money with his lawsuit? No

2. If he signs, does he have to payback the settlement? OTlawyers, what day you

Cincy should take him and if the OL can’t protect Burrow just throw Kaep our there instead.

Lol at the fricking idiots that still watch that shite.

Boring arse, stale, corporate product that it is was reason enough for me to stop watching it altogether a few years ago, this just makes me feel even more glad I made that decision.
