Again, it was a chance to get a cure that wasn’t 100%. They were batting .000 on the previous sacrifices, why was this sacrifice of Ellie going to be any different?

And if humanity is at the point where we are going to just start killing innocent children without them understanding the situation until we find a cure that we may never be able to actually distribute, is that a human race worth saving anyway?

Of course, it’s the decision a father would make when his child was about to be sacrificed without their consent and without proof that it would yield any actual benefit.

It's been a while since I've played the original, but wasn't Ellie "different"?

She was the only one with a true immunity to the fungus, right?
