I could not disagree more. Subtitles keep my eyes on the words and off of what is actually being shot. Dubs keep me in the moment. I will watch a dub over a sub 100 times out of 100.

Granted, dubs are much more distracting in live action movies verses animated ones.

If you use closed captioning for awhile you'll find your eyes adjust and that you learn to see everything at once, the full screen and the subtitles.

The movies where dubbing helps is Italian movies where I find the subtitles go off the screen way too fast as they talk so fast.

But generally dubbed movies suck because they get the translation wrong half the time.

The only company that does it competently is Disney because they have a worldwide audience of kids who can't read. But otherwise studios figure if you can read why dub?
