Better quality owners now than 50 years ago

Much better ways to market the game and additional revenue streams

The issue is the league is improving in basically one area of the field and that’s attacking players

It makes sense invest your DPs in exciting guys who can score goals and get people to watch

Bad part is no real money is being invested in defenders. Defending in the league has been pretty stagnant for years.

Defenders don’t put butts in seats
Chicharito, Vela, etc do.
Ideally MLS will become a springboard league like the Dutch league for players to make the jump to a bigger league. Shitty defending hasn’t really hurt the Eredivisie. Plus more goals is fun for spectators. Basically I don’t really disagree with the offense first mentality for a second tier league.
