Yea, it must have sucked. You know - most of those guys weren't even allowed to fight. They wanted to, but they had to work on construction crews.
Why would they want to fight for America?
Was the enemy worse?

But a lot has changed in American in the last 70 years. The 2000's are really the golden age for minorities in America, but some people will never be satiated. I see it the same as trying to appease Hitler in the 1930's.

Yes and no. Wendell Pierce was saying his dad is 95 now - and lived through exactly this. And he still wants to take a knee.
