Unless he’s coming in to try and save their investment?

Koch is definitely not worried about trying to “save” this investment. They’ve invested peanuts, for them. It’s a rounding error. Not saying there isn’t a purpose to it, but it isn’t to ‘save’ the 40% loss on 0.5% of the company. If they think SLi doesn’t work they just cut that loss and move on. They’re still interested which means something is there.

I hope we get news soon, and I’ll probably send a more pointed email next week if it doesn’t happen….heck I’ll probably send Mintak a text, even name drop TD if I have to. He knows we take those caps seriously.

But none of the Exxon/Tetra/etc news or rumors has me concerned. They can do whatever the hell they want. It’d be like declining an early stake in BP because Exxon and Shell already had established big positions. Plenty of lithium demand to go around.

Thank you for your interest in and support of Standard Lithium. While delayed from the earlier expectation in calendar Q2, the July 5 press release below provided an update to the expected timeline into early calendar Q3 for the outstanding feasibility studies for both the LANXESS and SW Arkansas projects. For some context concerning the delay, you refer to Andy Robinson quote toward the end of that press release (full press release linked below):

…Dr. Robinson shared: “We await final vendor pricing for our LANXESS Project DFS and for critical, third-party analytical data from the SWA drilling work for the PFS. We have analysed all of the brine samples from SWA at our own analytical facility and anticipate sharing the data once we receive verification from the external laboratory. We continue to expect our flagship Arkansas projects to be meaningful contributors to U.S. lithium production in the coming decades.”

As for press, Standard Lithium did receive prominent mention in a WSJ July 20 article, including some discussion of activities plans from interviewing the CEO:
This Arkansas Town Could Become the Epicenter of a U.S. Lithium Boom
Companies such as Exxon Mobil plan to extract lithium from brine water to help power electric vehicles

When there is news, of course it will be broadly disseminated to the market. In the interim, please feel free to call us if you have any questions.

Best,

David Barnard, CFA, Senior Vice President
