A friend had ground meat in his camper freezer. Lost power and the whole thing thawed then contaminated the entire unit. It was horrible, tried everything, clorox, lysol, alcohol, baking soda and nothing would take the rancid smell out. On a last ditch effort before pulling the fridge unit we put several bowls of ground coffee in there and after a week or so the smell was gone. I wouldn't have believed it had I not witnessed it, but coffee did it.

Same here. Power went out for a month on my camp fridge. There wasn't much in it; ketchup, beer, oh and a pack of chicken livers in the freezer. Not pleasant. Coffee was the only thing that helped.
