I would argue that Twitter, the cancel culture, mob mentality, and thinking a discussion is yelling at someone and not listening to their view is why we have Trump. Police reform is needed in this country, but race relations require a dialogue. It takes two to come to an understanding. Virtue signaling to be woke is not improving race relations, those doing so are only placating to other races for clout. In two months the virtue signalers for the most part will be back to living in gated communities or gentrifying areas and displacing minority families and businesses.
Drew is not wrong for his feelings towards the flag, and neither is Malcolm. They are both wrong in how they expressed their view towards the other though in not listening. The team and this country need to sit down shut the frick up and listen to the other side. Our bubbles are all different, acknowledging those differences, understanding those differences, and showing some fricking empathy can go a long way. Want others to show the same love and adoration for that flag as you do? Listen to their experience as an American. Don't understand why someone sees the flag as more than a cloth? Listen to them and understand their experience and where that adoration comes from.
Don't wanna listen? Frick off.
