1967. This was Cream's first time in the US and (I believe) The Who's first extended stay.
Murray the K’s wife was the choreographer. The story goes that she kept bitching about how “These stupid musicians are taking up the entire stage, nobody can see my dancers.”

Top Albums: The Lonely Bull - Tijuana Brass
Their music is so identified with the mid to late 60's it's surprising to see this album was released pre-Beatles.

Island’s entire promotional budget for Nick Drake's Pink Moon was spent on full-page advertisements in all major music magazines. It didn’t help sales.

“We’re Only In It For the Money was the first time anybody advertised for an album in a comic book. I thought, ‘Why not?’ I don’t think anybody has done that since that time … It was a great ad … The ad that I placed … was in Marvel and I thought that a lot of people who read Marvel might be interested in some of the stuff that we were doing. You know the kind of people who like Marvel Comics?” - Frank Zappa
