I have to work in Dallas in two weeks and the family is coming along with me. We plan to stay in a hotel for the first couple of nights and then do Great Wolf Lodge. I have five children ages 2 - 12. Has anyone been to Great Wolf Lodge and\or Lego land in the area? If so, I have a few questions?

Should we stay at Great Wolf 2 or 3 nights. We should get a full day the first day we are there since we will already be in Dallas. So the question is will they bored with three full days there if we stay 3 nights.

Also, we would like to go to Legoland as well. It looks like it is only about 2 miles from Great Wolf. Would be better just going before Great Wolf and stay in the regular hotel an extra night.

Also, anyone know of any kid friendly hotels with nice pools in the Dallas area we could stay at at the beginning of our trip?

Thanks!!

No, there is plenty for them to do. Water park inside and outside, games throughout, and pretty neat things for the real little ones like dance parties and bedtime story telling in the main area. Have you checked online to see if they still offer everything with this virus stuff?

Lego Land is pretty neat. Not an all day thing but worth the little drive.

There is also a small aquarium right next to it that my kids enjoyed.

It's expensive, and geared for the younger kids, but still a good place for two nights max.

I did Great Wolf with my three - 8,9, & 11 at the time.
They had loads of fun the first day/night, then got addicted to the Magic Quest game, and that's all they did for the remainder of the weekend.
My kids had zero interest in the story time and character meet and greet.
Since it was winter, we chose the indoor waterpark option.
Also, check out the Hilton Anatole or the Gaylord Texan for a much cheaper per night cost.
Next time we go, I think we're going to check out the Gaylor Texan Resort and Waterpark

Your kids probably won't get bored because kids don't mind doing that same things over and over again

You will probably get bored though, as the water park is pretty small

2 nights (1 full day and 1 half day) are my absolute limit for Great Wolf

If the riots end and curfew is lifted, check out Hilton Anatole. It has an amazing water park called Jade Waters.

Are there other similar places like this closer to Lafayette that I just don’t know about as a new parent? Lol

I've searched and found nothing in Louisiana. Margaritaville in Biloxi has a small waterpark.

The two closest Great Wolf Lodges are in Dallas and Atlanta.

FYI, the girlfriend and I took 3 kids last year and the total trip cost for one night was close to $1200.

BIG TIP - Check-in time begins at 4 p.m. ... However, you are welcome to play in the water park as early as 1 p.m. Also, you're allowed to stay until closing the day that you check-out.

We did 3 nights and we were absolutely taxed by Noon on our last full day. We wound up leaving GWL around 1pm on the last day and went to the aquarium, mall and had dinner elsewhere.

Legoland is a bit of a let down but your kids will enjoy it. Definitely not an all day thing. 2 - 3 hours tops.

I would avoid eating at Great Wolf, there is good Mexican and BBQ in Grapevine right near the lodge. We also opted out of the wand game but your kids might like that.

There’s a Rainforest Cafe in the Grapevine Mills mall, I think.
