It was like once they(fighters) understood his timing it was all over. I know it’s not that simple but it seemed that way after his fall from grace

He benefitted from fighting a lot of non strikers who also couldn't take him down. But his biggest fall was getting KOed and going from Iron chin to glass chin where a rich Franklin gust of wind could put him out cold.

Chuck came in when ufc was dominated by wrestlers. He was an above average stand up fighter (yes with very heavy hand) that used his wrestling skills to keep the fight standing with these wrestlers. Most of them couldn't handle chucks’ standup. When he lost to rampage something happened to his chin, he went from a guy that could take serious shots to a guy that went down if a butterfly landed on him fairly quickly.

He couldn't create. He was a through and through counterpuncher.
