Joe also asked for help for his hometown of Athens Ohio, Appalachian part of Ohio and overwhelmingly white, blue collar/working class/poor.

It's amazing how sentiments change when shades of black is mentioned. However, the same crowd cheers loudly for black athletes who help their team win championship rings. Hatred is deep and sadly real. Seems like time will never change people.
