Good players don't get INTs. Only bad dbs even get thrown at or those who take risks.

Peterson used to never get interceptions.

Agreed. Even a HOFer like Ed Reed had "down years" in turnovers.

But for statistical analysis for those crying:

First 3 seasons:
Marcus Williams: 46 games, 2 FFs and 10 INTs, 23 PDs
Earl Thomas: 48 games, 3 FFs and 10 INTs, 23 PDs

Thomas is definitely the better tackler, but when it comes to being a ball hawk, that's a pretty damn good start to a career if he becomes earl thomas.

That's true only for man cover corners or for guys that play insane zone coverage.

Williams not getting "big" numbers is more due to how Allen sets up his defense, with the FS playing 20-25 yards deep most plays and having zero impact on the run or short passes.

But the funny thing is, and this is what pff does poorly, is that we gave up a shite ton of deep passes the last 2 years (2017 we actually did well). But because of how pff asigns coverage the blame is often very misplaced.

A lot of coaches talk about how the assign blame to one guy in coverage because he was the closest, when in fact that guy was covering someone else's arse and actually made a great play even getting there.

There have been plenty of plays where Williams was supposed to be covering over the top with the corner playing shallow man but Williams read the play way late and the corner gets blame when Williams was supposed to help over the top.

It's almost like Fred Thomas/Josh Bullocks all over, though Williams isn't nearly that bad. But Thomas took the brunt of things when Bullocks was supposed to be the help and was never there/was way late.

I saw way more of that last year from Williams than I did his first 2 years. It was pretty bad at times and Lattimore, Apple, and PJ took most of the misplaced blame.
