Hi all,

We're currently renovating a house and I'm planning to install some speakers. I was hoping you guys could help me out a little...
My plan is to have 4 in-ceiling speakers inside (2 in living room, 2 in kitchen area...all hooked up to same channel with a wall-dial to turn off off the kitchen speakers if I want). Also, I want to have 2 outdoor speakers to the patio so I can either listen to music or use audio from outdoor tv.

What type of receiver should I be looking for? I like the idea of Sonos but I'm not really sure I want to spend all that money on 2 receivers. I'm open to any recommendations from you all. Also, the easier to use, the better. I want others to be able to use it without needing me there at all times.

Thanks for the help.

Denon, Yamaha, and marantz are gonna be your best bets. I have the Denon AVR4400 and like it a lot. 3 zones, easy to use, Alexa voice control, and you can run it all from the app... which apparently used to suck but is better now.

I don't think Sonos makes a receiver. They make an amp.

I bought one Sonos amp and power 7 pairs of speakers with it. Have a speaker selector connected to it.

But ya, buying multiple is expensive. Sonos fans talk about buying multiple of them like spending money on packs of bubble gum

Hope that helps.
