yea, true. guess its pretty complicated considering the amount of teams who are technically still mathematically alive for the playoffs

That's based off 82 games, though. With 5 games, there are only 4 teams alive and all of them essentially need the Griz to lose every game.

GSW is the only team mathematically eliminated right now, but there’s no way in hell Minnesota or any East team would make it if we finished the 82

So we give every team 5 more games at minimum. That would put Dallas and Atlanta at 72.

To get every other team to 72, 34 additional games would have to be scheduled. In that timeframe where the Mavs and Hawks play 5, the Lakers and Spurs would have to play 9. And then you’re still missing 10 games for each team, so the opportunity to get in the playoffs still has to be expanded

The fundamental question is how much should the games from October to March matter?
