It was a great season but I'd go with Arrested Development Season 1. 22 episodes of greatness.

Cartman's Incredible Gift is so underrated.

Season 8 is peak South Park in my opinion. It was in the transition of the dirty shock value humor of the earlier seasons to the brilliant social satire of the later seasons.

Douche and Turd
That scene when Kyle finally convinces Stan how important it is to vote but Kyle gets super pissed when he votes for Cartman’s choice instead of his guy.
PERFECTLY sums up what the Hollywood voting campaigns symbolize every 4 years.

Season 6 I think is better, but 8 is #2 on greatest South Park seasons.

Honestly, you can't go wrong with seasons 2-8. It's all personal preference. I prefer the earlier seasons of South Park (seasons 1-3) but there are great episodes throughout every season. It's so incredibly difficult for me to rank seasons but my favorites are 2, 3, 5, 7, and 8.
I like season 7 better than 6 or 8
Cancelled
Krazy Kripples
Toilet Paper
Fat Butt and Pancake Head
Lil' Crime Stoppers
South Park Is Gay!
Christian Rock Hard
Grey Dawn
Casa Bonita
All About Mormons
Butt Out
Raisins

The season where they introduced PC Principal has to rank up there as well as the Troll Trace season the following year.

The thing about Season 8 is it hits wide, and a lot of parts of culture. It's tough to find a season that is on point for all the angles.
