No. I believe the flu fatality rate is about 0.1%, so this would be 2.6 times as bad, even if you neglected the fact that it’s far more contagious due to there being no immunity.

Not really. My understanding is the flu is pretty hard on infants and kids. This one not so much. Mortality rate might be similar but this virus is really only a threat to older folks specifically really old folks and older folks with other serious health issues.
30-40% of the deaths are in nursing homes which are basically people with only a few years max left anyway. A disease that targets infants seems to be a much bigger threat than one that targets the extremely elderly.
